I unfortunately experienced the same. I will be there in some form no matter what, but I saw the images and my brain just immediately starting worrying about how and when lmao. Need to let myself just enjoy things.
If I recall correctly from last time, they set up a whole system I had never experienced before to try and ensure tickets were resold fairly for those who couldn’t go. I think Sam and Nate really do care about this sorta thing. While there’s no guarantee and it would be tough logistically, I do feel like if any band was gonna try and honor this, it might be them.
I'd be fine with Joyce, but it would be way more fitting to get the old crew back together. Limbeck, Hellogoodbye, Steel Train (no chance), Honorary Title, Reubens Accomplice, etc
I only saw the Format twice; once in 200...2?2003? Opening for Yellowcard and Something Corporate. Second time was in 2007 with Piebald opening.
It’s taken everything for The Format to reunite and that’s with Nate and Sam being friends all this time. Can’t imagine what it would take for Nate and Jack to reunite.
Nate was working on songs for the third album and then decided he didn't want them to be fun. songs and he wanted to do a solo album instead. As the article here says: Of course, there was the matter of informing those bandmates that there would be no new fun. album. Ruess admits that the news wasn’t received well when he told them late last summer. Sounds like it didn't end well. And, as the poster above said, if it took this long for him to agree to get back with Sam again, I don't see him and Jack ever doing more fun.
Jack was also kinda a dick about the breakup, talking shit about We Were Young in multiple interviews among other comments
Nate also has been very vocal about how jaded he is about the music industry and performing in general. He doesn’t have to do it since he’s got both fun. money and Ronson money. So it takes a lot to get him off the couch from shitposting on X the everything app.
I thought this was lost to time, honestly such a good song with them, better than on his album even https://www.reddit.com/r/ournameisfun/s/YwejA2Ls0j
Watched that live because I was so excited. Really makes me wonder how much of an album they had done, because why else would you start hyping it?
Agreed. I really wonder what the thinking was behind that. Like, were they so excited about it and/or bored of playing the singles that they felt compelled to do it? Either way, it just makes it even stranger that Nate would think it was okay to use it for his solo album.
