A note from Sam & Nate: For the past two years we have really been looking forward to playing these reunion shows. This new year begins with some continued uncertainty, and as a band and crew with families, as well as traveling fans that we care about, we feel it’s most responsible to cancel the currently scheduled shows and refund your tickets. It is not fair to continue to reschedule dates, and we would much prefer to revisit the idea of playing live when things are more certain, and when we can all travel and safely enjoy ourselves. We appreciate your understanding. We are sorry for all the back and forth. Perhaps once we get it properly sorted we can entertain the idea of some larger venues so that everyone who wants to will get a better chance to see us. Or wait to see us. ;-]
Can't blame them, they were obviously doing this for fun and I imagine it would be hard to have fun touring with all the COVID concerns still being here. I just realized I said Fun a lot there - maybe a FUN. reunion before a Format reunion now? Won't hold my breath for that but a guy can dream!
I 100% would have held onto my ticket for years and years until they play a show But I also get that after 2+ years, with no clear answer, it might be easier for them to issue refunds now
Bummer. Maybe they can find a way to do a whole tour in the future. Or you know, come within 1000 miles of the southeast.
even though I wasn't going to get to see them I was still looking forward to seeing videos on YouTube lol. Was also hoping it might inspire Nate to make new music.
Would have rather held on to the tickets. Zero idea what card I used to buy these or where I purchased. This is the best.
Man that fucking stings. I just hope they do play bigger venues if they do decide to try this again in the future. If I didn't get tickets to new dates after all this I would genuinely be mad lol
pages 24/25 of this thread are WILD now, reading them back is so bizarre because it was March 2020 right as the world was about to shut down hardcore and we still had hope these shows would happen then
I was really excited about seeing them at Lincoln Hall, one of the best venues in Chicago, with Joyce Manor too. Damn. Oh well.
I don’t know what all goes into just having the shows just kinda floating around out there but I can’t imagine it’s super easy to keep track of for the parties in charge. It’s a bummer but I get it. Feeling extra grateful to have seen their surprise acoustic show — it was my last before the pandemic
I don’t even know what to say. So much has changed for me since I bought these tickets, but this event has stayed in my head held up on a pedestal. I was flying from ATL to NYC for two nights of this and it was going to be my first time on a plane since 2018. It was a huge deal at the time. Then COVID happened and everything changed. But throughout the entire pandemic, I held on to hope and this show became so symbolic to me of a future time that was worth living for. I totally understand the decision made here, but I’m devastated all the same.
