Well with Coachella being cancelled and Pearl Jam cancelling their spring tour now I'm questioning if they may cancel...
A festival that brings in a ton of people in the US and internationally and then a world renowned band playing huge venues vs the Format in a small room. I wouldn’t worry. Fear mongering really is taking over.
Smaller rooms get more packed in, contained and hot. Isn't that a pretty good breeding ground for a virus?? Not claiming I'm really knowledgeable in the subject though
the thing thats going to make people cancel tours is size of the venues and amount of travel. This tour is fairly small rooms, short, and they're only playing in 3 cities. Shit would have to really get out of hand immediately in those places for them to have to cancel it.
I imagine at most they make an announcement asking people from out of town to exercise caution and cancel voluntarily if they believe they could be contagious / from a super high risk region.
i've come to terms that i'm ok with them rescheduling and honoring tix later. but so help me god, if they cancel, reschedule, and make fans try and obtain tickets again, i will flip. my. shit.
Seems like an inevitable reschedule at this point for NYC. Just hope I'll be able to make the rescheduled date. Wild that NBA games are going to be played in empty arenas.
I've got 3 shows lined up this week and none of them have even hinted at cancellations. The Format is playing smaller venues than any of those. It's not impossible they're rescheduled, but I also wouldn't call it inevitable.
If I get into this Sunday date, it'll be three shows in a row for me. Two nights of Dashboard Confessional at the Paradise in Boston. Then (potentially) hopping on an early ass bus to NYC for this. Might try and see a matinee musical if I can manage it. lol.
