I'm trying to keep yesterdays disaster in mind and lower my excitement, but it's proving difficult, lol.
I really, REALLY hope I can snag a ticket to the Sunday NYC show.
It would be 3 concerts in a row but so worth it.
Found a megabus route that would be 45 round trip.
And a hotel that I could use some gift cards on.
Make it happen, universe!

 

Can vouch for Valley Bar. Went there after the 1975 last April

 

As long as you are not staying in any of the motels that are downtown and across from The Van Buren you are fine...

Downtown hotels I would recommend:
The Palomar Kimpton
Courtyard/Residence Inn or Renaissance
Hotel San Carlos (cheaper/haunted vibe)
The Clarendon (uptown - not walking distance)
Fairfield (uptown - not walking distance)

You also may want to look on airbnb (rates should go back to being cheaper since Spring Training will have ended). I was actually just checking near my place since we have a ton of airbnb properties on/around Roosevelt and it was relatively cheap $70-100 ish a night. First Friday so there will be a ton of people walking around.

If you want to be within walking distance or a $5 uber I would try to stay in the radius between 7th ave and 7th street and Roosevelt to Jefferson (safer if you don't have a feel for the city). Arcadia and Scottsdale are good bets too just a further commute.

Lola Coffee is great as well on Roosevelt as is Lux (Central and Turney) if anyone wants to do a phx coffee tour.

I don’t have a ton of good restaurant/bar recommendations around Lincoln Hall since I really only go over there for shows, but it’s a cool neighborhood and is about a mile from Lincoln Park Zoo, which is free and really neat.

 

I hope everyone goes nuts at all three shows and they think about doing similar (weekend touring) in other cities later in the year.
