Almost done with my first listen. Nice to hear a new record from the band. I am racking my brain trying to think of the song that Shot in The Dark reminds of. I definitely get a little bit of Uriah Heap, The Wizard but there is something else and I can't quite place it.
yeah I like this but im not floored by it. need more time. initial first listen was good but not great for me.
My favorite songs on first listen (aside from the 4 singles) Depressed, No You Dont, Human Nature. Really liked the album as a whole.
I had a really positive first listen experience, and on repeat spins this morning, I really got what the band was going for on this album. My full review should be posted later on today, but this version of The Format draws from all of their previous musical experience as musicians and still has a lot of creative takes as Sam/Nate get back to the core of what makes this band so damn special.
One of my favorite moments in this site’s history was watching fun go from a smaller band that felt niche to the community to the biggest thing in the world and almost everybody was just so pumped for them. Just feels right to hear Nate’s voice again damn
The first few notes of the riff and the guitar tone on No Gold At The Top was reminding me of something but I couldn't figure it out until now...
Between meetings and internet issues I just finished my first release-day listen through and I immediately wanna throw it on again
