Out of all the songs released so far - is there one that you think the rest of the album sounds more like?
honestly I would say the title track. There a lot of distorted guitar/ crunchiness on a chunk of tracks but it still has a classic Format feel. I liked the singles, but as a whole the album really clicks
I was realllllly hoping you would say that because Boycott Heaven has been my favorite track they've released. I saw them in LA at the Hollywood Forever and was blown away when they played it during their encore.
Went to the listening party here in KC. Overall, I’d say it’s a pretty big and heavy album. Like, the very poppy, “She Doesn’t Get It” Format is largely not here. It’s very crunchy and made for an arena. Nate does some incredible vocal work and it feels like he’s really trying to shake off whatever heaviness has been weighing on him over the past decade. My first impressions were it was pretty good stuff.
I really liked what I heard, but it didn’t totally stick with me because I was dealing with some stomach issues at the time (not a comment on their quality). I just remember thinking they making some wild choices (complimentary) with some of the songs, which would explain why they weren’t part of the pre-released songs.
There are some songs where Nate is going for it so hard vocally that I thought I don’t know how he’s gonna pull this off on a big ass tour.
There’s some really dark lyrics on some songs , and I heard a few screams from Nate (not full on metal lmao) That took me by surprise Depressed is an ear worm. It’s been stuck in my head since I left
Very sad I wasn’t able to make it to my local listening party yesterday because of the snow. Can’t wait to hear this
Y'all have me so amped! I'm stoked that I stop listening to anything after A Shot In The Dark. That song HOOKED me and I still listen to it daily, he is absolutely showing off with his vocals and I'm all about it. I gotta take my dad to the airport on Friday so I'm gonna jam out on the way home.
Went, had a good time. Excited to spend some real time with the record when it comes out. "No You Don't" is a big highlight.
On Your Porch almost makes me cry every time now, I mean come on.... This part feels so much bigger now So now here I sit, in a hotel off of Sunset My thoughts bounce off of Sam's guitar And that's the way its been Ever since we were kids but now Now we've got something to prove
also, how does a listening party work when it comes to bandcamp? do they make it available to stream for a certain amount of time?
