probably one of the only situations ever where i alllllways listen to the bonus track. feels like a little epilogue to me
A&I Dog ProbZ Some Nights / Interventions and Lullabyes Grand Romantic (I probably listened to this like 3 times and gave up) I like Some Nights, and it has some incredible songs on it, but it also has some really weak songs. Aim and Ignite is consistently great start to finish. havent listened to it in a while. If I wasnt listening to the new Thrice/TSL/Yellowcard albums, Id be moved to throw that on today
So pumped for tonight's show. Anyone else going? I've been to a bunch of shows at Hollywood Forever but always at the smaller masonic lodge. Never seen a show out on the lawn.
Anyone in here happen to have a good scan of the liner notes of the B-Sides and Rarities compilation? Or if you have a physical copy and can take a readable picture for me, that would be awesome too.
I can do this - I have it on vinyl and can grab it off my shelf to scan. Will also be there tonight at Hollywood Forever - we're heading to a wedding in Los Alamos tomorrow and staying the night in LA. Never thought we'd actually get more shows after 2020 went to shit.
All of this discography talk has me going back and listening to Grand Romantic and...I think I didn't give this enough of a chance when it came out.
I&L came out my freshman year of college. All my friends loved it but I honestly couldn’t get into it much. Didn't hate it, but didn’t love it. When fun. was opening for PATD! In 2011, I hadn’t listened to fun. but knew it was Nate’s band so I figured I’d go to the show early and catch them and was blown away by Nate. The next day I ordered A&I and then saw fun. three more times from 2011-2013. It honestly wasn’t until a few years ago where I went back and re-listened to The Format albums. So, yeah, I definitely fall into the category of being exposed to The Format first, but liking fun. more.
I also like Fun more than The Format. Hell, I like the first two Bleachers records as much as The Format albums
Completely forgot I never opened it. Mmm, minty fresh clear vinyl. Adding a PDF scan as well as mobile-friendly JPG. Work is slow.
thank you! i foolishly gave away my copy (along with ALL of my CDs) a handful of years ago. fun to read these blurbs again!
Love seeing the Limbeck shoutout. My wife brags to me that she’s seen Format/Limbeck/Hellogoodbye/Steel Train at Glasshouse.
I'm greeting my daughter's babysitter, dropping my son at the in laws, then driving in! Aiming to arrive during Phantom planet, set up a tiny little picnic blanket, drink wine and be merry. Hope everyone has fun!!
One last post to celebrate. My and the boys in September 2007 at one of their last few shows before they broke up
