oh my god, my mom is on the phone bragging about how cheap she was buying hurricane supplies in the past that it's bordering obnoxious.
Our generator, that we haven't used in 11 years, needs a oil top up but since my parents aren't sure if the bottle we have is still good, mom rushed to buy a new bottle just to be sure.
Tonight is the worst case scenario. The eye's over the Bahamas right now and the outer bands have already hit Miami. I'm in West Palm and so far, they're predicting tonight as the worst case.
thanks y'all. everyone be safe. hope this one isn't significantly worse than the last, but it's starting to look that way
Oh yeah, this one is looking bad haha. I live in an 80 year old house that's currently having roof work done in a neighborhood level with the river that's a block away. That alone probably would've made me leave but the fact that people only wanna compare this to Kate, Katrina, and Frances, I'm just gonna get out haha.
My neighbors just started getting work done on their roof this week and I cannot for the life of me understand why they picked this week.
i live in Georgia, but my brother and his family live on Amelia Island. His family evacuated but he is a nurse and has to stay behind with hospital patients. Their house is like a half mile inland.
I'm in St. Augustine and we're like 3 miles west of the beach with the intercoastal in between but as of now we're not planning on going anywhere, our closest neighbors are planning on staying as well. We have family in town on the other side 95 if we decide to do anything though.
My parents are going up to the northeast next weekend for a Phish concert and their hotel is right on the water in St Augustine so i'm hoping their hotel doesn't get damaged or closed and fuck up their travel plans.
Power blanked out three times today and we're making dinner early just in case the power goes out again for a longer period tonight.
Yeah man, people could get hurt and their homes damaged but god forbid your parents' travel plans get ruined.
Oh god haha. Miami is safe, thankfully. Very little rain than from what was expected, at least where I'm at. I hope the coast stays clear as well.
Just peered outside my front door and while it's still very wet out, the rain and wind have lightened up. Who knows what'll happen later tonight. Palm Beach County is still under a hurricane warning and flood watch and the storm is about 70 miles from the coast.
Jesus christ... I just state my personal little worry about how it will affect my family even in the very slightest way, and all of a sudden I care less about millions of Floridians who could actually potentially suffer in potential loss of property and life? . What a gross insinuation. I'm actually really offended by that.
