Definitely not the record I expected, but sonically it makes sense. Favorites so far are Mammals, Sympathy Vote, and No Roads.
Album is really good imo. Definitely different than some of their past records. There are some really slow songs on here as well. I can understand some fans not being into this for sure. It's still Chris and his delivery. It's still really good and interesting musicianship. It's still very much The Flatliners, but they are definitely expanding their writing on this one. If you go expecting another typical Flats record than you will be disappointed. Too early to say where it will rank in their catalog for me, but it's a good record.
Listened to this while cleaning out my garage yesterday afternoon, and it worked really well for that purpose haha. I'll have to give it another, closer listen, but I did enjoy it.
Interesting album, not sure how much I enjoy it after one listen. Some of the ways he sings on this album kinda irk me. Maybe it'll grow on me
I'm seriously so bummed out, but at least I get to see them both at Bled. 30 minute sets won't be enough though
Yeah, even though it says "More Dates to Be Announced", those have to be in the Pac Northwest, Western Canada, and maybe Québec and the Maritimes if they decide to bring it past Toronto (doubt it though, since both them and the Nil are playing Pouzza Fest in Montreal in May).
Someone commented on IG and said something about US dates and they said "stay tuned for more announcements" so it's coming! I just really want to see them with Dirty Nil
Hmmmm I liked this a WHOLE lot more on my second listen. I had a pretty shitty day when I first listened maybe that effected how I felt about it lol
After several listens, I'm digging this album. It's going to be a great summertime, windows down kinda record.
A bit short but still a good first listen. Glad it streamed today so I can spin it a few times before the big release day tmr (Kendrick, The Maine, FJM).
It's really 41 minutes? Must've just felt short because I was busy at work and it bled together a bit.
This was a neat listen, agreed that it'll be a good summer album. The heavier songs I feel are still standouts though.
