Just listened to The First Ever Podcast with Chris on my late commute from work, and Chris said he always stays awake till midnight to listen to their premiers together with the rest of the world; I got off the train at 11:50 and smiled I'd be listening to it at the same time as him in just a moment (then remembered I live in a totally different time zone hahh) That being said, it's still the first record I've checked out from new releases, it's high energy and fun - though actually some of the slower moments are so far my most appreciated. Softer bits here or there, but well, the vocals still soar, and it feels fresh - the rest might be quite close to their previous album sonically, but I need to spend more time with it for sure
I've never heard of The Flatliners until today. Rolled the dice on "Good, You?" then hesitantly checked out the other two singles and man, what an awesome album. I'm not as fond of his rougher vocals as some of these cleanly sung, massive choruses, but it all works so well together as an entire package.
I like the album. Back in 2006(6th grade) I wasn't really into punk yet except for the pop punk on the radio. But I remember this band's name. A classmate knew I was good at searching the web for stuff and him and his friends had me find the band online during computer class.
I realized why this album may have resonated with me: There’s a lot of melodies on here which remind me of old school Vendetta Red!
It's a solid record. I remember when it first came out and saw some of the goofiest criticisms of it online. Always baffled me but to each their own.
Never heard of this band before but Spotify recommended it and I'm digging so far, two tracks in. His voice reminds me of the Billy Talent vocalist at times.
I think there's a little more "filler" on this album compared to the last. But stolen valor, and they're off, into annihilation, and gush are excellent. All in all i'm really happy with it.
Inviting Light is my favorite, Cavalcade second. Finally getting around to listening to this and really enjoying it so far. Edit: Don't think I ever listened to New Ruin in full...
i gotta jam these guys too theyre also a big blindspot for me despite being big on a lot of their peers and also digging the guys vocal contributions to hot water musics new stuff
