holy smokes that episode last night was so good. I reallllly hope Malfoy isn't Alchemy, it's so obvious if he is. it'll be so much better if he really just turns out to be a guy Barry works with haha.

 

That's basically how I felt in season one, but alas...

 

Anyone else feel like an episode about child abuse/mental health should have been taken a little more seriously and not so silly at times? This could have been really special and poingiant but lost all sense of seriousnesses when she picked up a tanker and was intercut with Jessie's return and dating Iris hijinks.

 

Definitely crossed my mind. At the very least, CW has the whole mental health thing down with Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. I didn't really expect The Flash to take it far in that direction, but I guess the problem then is why we expect superhero narratives to be a certain way and not tackle tougher issues head on. Jessica Jones certainly tackled relationship abuse, but just because it's on Netflix and The Flash is on CW we expect different things from them. Maybe we should hold them all to a higher standard, or I don't know, maybe it's fine that CW is lighter fun.

 

So apparently, Tobin Bell is the voice of Alchemy?! I was watching with my friend, and he said the voice sounded real familiar. I was like... no way. Turns out, yes way. How did I not know this lol.

 

anyone else see the ratings for this season are declining? I think this season has been very strong. I'm loving the energy of the whole cast. hope the ratings start going back up. need this show to stick around

 

Yes! I said this earlier in the thread but nobody seemed to care nor probably knows who that is lol!

Even though those movies dwindled in quality the last several, I've always been a huge fan and love the story of it all and how others picked up the pieces and what not.

Either way great casting choice I think.

Were they great last season?

I can only imagine with all the time jumps that people are confused

 

I think CW is pretty good with keeping its shows, unless they're as badly received as TBL. And besides, the universe is four shows now. I think they'll keep doing the crossovers for a while.

Ahh! I must have missed when you mentioned it or forgot entirely. Ya I'm a fan of the series and the convoluted plots and twists. They're really fun movies.

 

yeah my friend mentioned that too, saying that even football ratings have been down this year.

I still never realized people were frustrated with last season, I loved it, but I'm definitely feeling this season more. optimistic barry for the win.

 

Ratings shouldn't mean shit. I haven't watched a show live/on cable in years.

 

I thought those ratings took stuff like Hulu into account? Or is that a different number they add later?

 

All I know about ratings is that they have some sort of number for people who watched within 7 days and maybe another for within 30. That likely includes live, DVR, and on demand views through cable. Not sure how they include things like Hulu, the CW app, etc. Especially when some people wait to binge via Netflix, it seems dumb to only factor in cable views.

This is just my guess. No expert on ratings by any means.

 

I also think they made a mistake by not putting The Flash on Netflix till the premiere of season 3. I have a number of friends that really wanted to watch and catch up but said it was such a pain to do without Netflix. so some just have their dvr's piling up while they catch up now on Netflix. they should put it on like a month before, give new fans a chance to jump on the new season.

 

I also don't know much but I do know they drive whether a series does well and gets more ad revenue money and whatnot but I feel like I'm this day and age that metric needs to be evaluated differently.

This is so true cuz that's how it was for me until I just needed to make room.

After the current seasons of CW shows they'll be on Netflix within a few weeks according to the new deal they signed

 

Yeah definitely agree it needs some work.

 

I don't think Netflix #'s are ever reported. Hulu may be different considering most of their content is current episodes and would likely fall into the Live+7 but I'm not real sure.

 

Yeah I think Netflix keeps everything to themselves haha.

Just finished season 1. Why did no one tell me how great this truly was? I watched s1 of that shit show of garbage Got Ham while this season aired? My god. I fucked up. I make terrible life choices.

I cried twice during the finale. What a god damn amazing show!

 

Wait for the mindfuck that's S2!

Yeah this episode was pretty great. Love the Rogues and new ones. Very curious where they're going with Caitlin.

 

Really enjoying the variety so far in the season with individual episodes. I loved season 2 but felt that it was just so much always about Zoom. this feels more like, okay yeah there's a overarching bad that they need to be concerned with, but we are getting individual stories mixed in. we got some Rogues this week, and they weren't wasted, next week it looks like we got some fun adventure with a monster. I'm diggin it.
