There’s a variety article out there with a major spoiler - please please please avoid. Don’t make the same mistake I did
If it ends up being 100% true, it's a shitty choice to be warned about, not a treat to be kept as a fun surprise, lol. If there are any dorks in here who would be happy to see a surprise dead person's CGI likeness: idk, sorry that I don't care what you think! Guess we'll have to wait and see* what that actually entails. * find out in a way that doesn't require buying a ticket and/or sitting through this whole thing
Like, I understand the outrage and it is definitely a conversation to have if it's true, but I also, probably foolishly, believe in being respectful of people who might not want to know that information.
Christopher Reeve, Adam West Rumored to Cameo in New 'Flash' Movie Apparently this has been rumored for a year now, but this article suggests if it's real, it'd just be for a quick scene with no dialogue when hopscotching universes.
If it's just archival footage, like the multiversal equivalent of someone looking at a screen or like a montage or whatever, then... whatever. DC has done that before, and I've assumed something like that would be here. However, some people seem to be implying some kinda deeper CGI recreation of Reeves, which would be so grotesque, even in just a cameo role. Since this current writers' strike has grown into having a prominent AI component, I hope there's more and more of a push back against all these unethical technological applications. The whole Tarkin issue is gonna get worse as deepfake and AI tech keeps advancing.
I guess ultimately I agree it's an unnecessary and creepy practice, but I also know these things don't just happen without getting permission from the estate, so I dunno. I don't want to judge a decision made by the people who would be most affected by it.
Saw this last night. It’s fine. It’s fun. Definitely do not see the “It’s the best comic movie ever” hype that some people are saying. It’s not in the realm of GOTG3 or “, if we’re talking DC, “The Suicide Squad.” Lots of bad, goopy CGI and lame jokes (Miller is bad at physical comedy). Nice seeing Keaton back in the suit. Also, way too long. As for the ending, not sure what the real ending is. We didn’t get anything blurred out, but there is a pretty funny surprise at the end. The stinger that we got was very dumb and not funny.
The "it's the best comic book movie ever" line that has been recited by execs and celebs feels like a coordinated campaign similar to how amazing Andrea Riseborough was in "To Leslie"
It’s weird that somehow Tom Cruise got involved with the hype since he has no skin in that game, unless Scientology is trying to recruit Miller or something.
