I think everyone is going to have a little too much to drink tonight, but we'll have to let that slide.
Thanks! I love how nice that green crisp and retina Kermit looks on the site! And the blue supporter badge under it! Thank you so much.
Hopefully the domain transfer goes through today. I think Spin is turning things off tomorrow morning. I'll point the domain here as soon as I can.
Oh so you mean I'll have plenty of time tonight to go through posts from my teenage years and remind myself of what a terrible human I used to be? Yes! :D
You guys will always have a really special place in my heart. Even though I stopped being a "regular" years ago, when I see news about the next stages of AP (or now Chorus), I'll always remember what we all had together. Through all the ups and the downs and the dumb shit that 20-year-olds say and do to each other, our love of music will always keep us connected in some way. Congrats on your newest endeavor, Jason. And Drew, you da real MVP.
This is dope @Jason Tate - I feel like I'm living on the moon! I was hoping to find my favorite thread debacle ever (that didn't involve me getting into a heated argument w/ lunchforthesky), but I couldn't. It was basically me vs. a slew of Paramore fans. Good times.
I've mostly just been lurking on chorus since the beta launched, but I'm continually amazed at how much better this site is. Well done, Jason. Proud to have been a part of AP.net, and even more proud to be a part of Chorus.
I was talking to a friend of mine who is super into music as well and he lurked AP a lot. The new change in era has motivated him to make an account later today (which will either be Jose or Miami Drowned, he hasn't decided), and I felt the same sense of motivation with the change too. I was already an AP member and I posted here and there, but nowhere as near as much as I have this week with Chorus. Something feels different. I think it's the fact that we are all coming together to celebrate something fantastic, it's inclusive and feels less intimidating to take part of. Everyone is getting together to rally about the birth of something so inspiring and it's so pure and truthful to the meaning of forums like these. I feel a sense of community, people who are passionate about like-minded things and driven by ambitions that are vastly different than my own, but I'm eager to hear about and support. I'm so excited. I've told everyone I know about today. Cheers to the new era!
I think that's one of the best parts about this "rebirth." It's a perfect opportunity to weed out the negativity and (complacency maybe?) that plagued AP.net's forums. We have something new here and I think the vast majority of people making the switch are people that want to continue to feel that sense of community and friendship.
I've always wanted AP.net to be freed from the Buzzmedia again. Didn't realize this is what it would take. It;s a long time coming, but I'll miss it all the same. I grew up on that site, grew in and (to a degree) out of love with music on it. I rarely check the front page anymore but the forums were still a daily visit for me and I'll never forget that.
Fascinating. I have a ton of questions that are probably really obvious to people who actually do web development. There must be a ton of customizations and plugins under the hood.
Feel free to hit me up when things get a little less crazy in a week or so and I can share more. But, yeah, there's a whole lot of customizations going on for some of that. It's actually funny how "simple" it looks given some of the stuff I had to do to get it to look that way and do what I want.
