I discovered a lot of great music on ap the last few years but I'm excited to let it go and see what the future here brings!
Thank you, Jason. You have no idea how much of a help AbsolutePunk has been in helping me discover new music. Probably 90% of the bands I listen to, I discovered through ap.net in some way, shape, or form. The amount of times I say "I saw this band talked about on AbsolutePunk" or "It's the lead singer of ______, AbsolutePunk premiered a track from his/her upcoming album" just says how much the site has shaped my music taste, and helped mature it too. The ending is just the beginning repeating.
Crazy to think that the site I've been visiting almost every day for the past 7 years is about to end. Never has a website been so important to me.
I was on AP longer than Facebook and MySpace. This is a weird feeling. Can't imagine how Jason feels, haha.
I remember this happened right around the holidays and I was at a Christmas party constantly refreshing that page
When will the actual cutover take place? I know it's corny, but I want to have my last post in the "If only.. A Work Computer Safe Thread for Employees XXVI" thread. Been talking to those dudes for years now. Only appropriate.
I amassed a meek 160+, and a good chunk of them were me singing the praises of the Celtics and @Jason Tate making fun of me for it haha.
I heard if you post Nate Dogg's famous "Smoke weed every day" 1 second before AP officially goes down you get a trophy on here.
credit to @nothingsforeverdude here's how i found my first post: if you go to your ap profile, click your posts you should get a 40 page search. up in the top left ish there is a button "Search Forums" click into that. Put your username in, posts older than 1 year and click display as posts. there's probably an easier way bbut it works
My "Remember Me?" post has 22 likes, and that totally isn't making me irrationally proud of myself at all. That'd be crazy. As crazy as admitting I made that because making that joke to myself was the first time this whole thing hit me emotionally.
