Would recommend all of these + "Sorry". Definitely starting with "Adelaide" though, the perfect gateway track
I recommend Banks to anyone who's into minimalist R&B like FKA Twigs and The Weeknd's Trilogy mixtapes. Lots of really sexy stuff on her debut album. Here's the first and only song she's released from her upcoming second album:
Allie X is a singer/ producer from Ontario who's been one of the most exciting synthpop artists to watch for the past couple years imo. Ladylike Lily is a French musician who writes dark, dreamy folk songs & is slated to release her second LP later in 2016. Emilie & Ogden is a harpist out of Montreal and her debut record from last year is a baroque pop gem.
@Essie So so so happy you're here. I've discovered some great stuff because of you. Again, really happy you popped up here @chhholly123 Brandi Carlile is fantastic. Also love that Lucius album a lot.
This band is pretty good: Dealing with The Weird, by Fucko They kind of remind me of Paramore, except I like them better.
Ladyhawke has a new album coming out this year and she's amazing also I imagine everyone here is already listening to Courtney Barnett but just in case both are also LGBTQIA which is cool too
Gabrielle Aplin x1000 Ellie Goulding's early acoustic stuff I second PVRIS Fickle Friends Kate McGill
Denmark's Oh Land is a pop treasure who dispenses clever & danceable tracks with more hooks than a Bass Pro Shop. Claire de Lune, previously of hip-hop trio The Chalice (which also features Lizzo), forms one half of Minneapolis' R&B unit Tiny Deaths. Former Carissa's Wierd guitarist & vocalist Jenn Champion / S crafts songs that will tear your gay heart into pieces.
@Essie I love Oh Land SO HARD lol I'm so impressed by this thread right now. Awesome recommendations!
