Been getting very into Cayetana, Diet Cig, and Ratboys lately. That Vagabon record is also pretty fantastic. Slingshot Dakota is next on my list of artists to dive into.
I have! I just heard their split with Cayetana and jammed their album for a few weeks last year. It's been a while since I heard the record, though, so I plan on revisiting it this week.
Not sure if anyone listens to Xylo but they released a new single the other day and it's really, really good.
So many singers are putting on this type of intonation lately - making a lot of female singers sound very similar. I feel like if they just sang it straight it would be a lot better. Just me? The Lorde/Lana effect? Anyway, I think Dia Frampton has finally hit the mark. Her previous solo stuff was kinda poor, in my opinion, but her new album has some stunners. Also, Ella Hooper, formerly of Killing Heidi;
oh wow, I've heard George Maple on many songs but never released her to be female. I guess I assumed that George Maple was a DJ and any female vocals were uncredited. Guess I gotta go back to those tracks and pay more attention
Yeah that's what I thought at first, just a random DJ with tracks featuring female vocals. But she reminds me of a more dance-oriented Jessie Ware, which is a good thing
I love her. She's an amazing human being as well. There were two girls from Ireland I think it was who missed two shows bc of unfortunate circumstances and she bought them and their parents plane tickets and flew them to one of her shows.
Yeah she's great; she's really quirky and funny on all her social media channels, especially Snapchat, but extremely nice, like from your example. Really excited for her debut full length later this year
