this is definitely going to be my preferred choice among the oscar nominees, unless first reformed somehow were to get nominated for a ton of shit
I was worried this wouldn’t feel like Lanthimos but then they started racing ducks When this gets going it is unstoppable. It is absurdly funny and totally riveting. Everything I hoped it’d be
this movie was fucking amazing. Nicholas Hoult was outstanding. I loved the music. First Lanthimos film I've seen.
so glad this film got a few screens in my theater. it was so incredible. fucking thrilling to watch; Emma, Olivia, and Rachel all have performances that are so well done. honestly think that Emma deserves an Oscar for this film more than she did for La La Land, lol
Any shot Emma Stone or Rachel Weisz had at that Oscar is ruined by both of them being nominated unfortunately. They're going to split the votes.
I need to see it again. Didn’t love the third act but it might play better once I know where it’s going.
Finally watched this. Really enjoyed it. Emma was so feisty and I loved that. And such a god damn gorgeous movie, looked like they maybe used a lot of natural light. The only thing I didn’t really like was the frequent use of fish eye lens. Sorta took me out of it. Kinda expected it to get more fucked up just cause Lanthimos but it was surprisingly tame, which is fine.
Yeah, but it’s 12 min, so traditional distribution is pretty much out of the question unless it gets an Oscar nom and ends up in one of those shorts programs. I can see a deal with the Criterion Channel or a similar venue maybe.
