Sidenote, I just noticed it's on sale for 2.99 for kindle on amazon if anyone else feels like diving in.
Just a heads up, if I got a package coming today I won't get it until tomorrow. Like last year I had to send it to my parents house because my apartment makes it hard to get packages. But starting tomorrow I'm dog/house sitting so that won't be an issue. Just don't want anyone to feel bad if they don't get a reaction today lol.
Ok so I got Dungeon Crawler Carl. Looks fucking awesome, flipping through it I kind of get a picture of the hook and that alone is brilliant. Really looking forward to reading it, it will be my next book after the horror novel I’m currently reading. a bit blown away ive never heard of it before
I cannot express how much I’ve come to love this series. The audiobook narrator is absolutely unhinged.
hah i actually put dungeon crawler carl on my very long list a couple days ago i'm currently 60% through golden son and having an enjoyable time with the series so far, worked to get me out of my funk at least
Got this in the mail today! Totally new to me and, based on all the Amazon reviews, sounds very in my wheelhouse. Thank you to whoever sent this! My mailed book should be arriving in a few days. :)
Unrelated to our little gift exchange entirely: One of my Malazan hot takes is everyone should read the ICE Paths to Ascendancy trilogy prior to Gardens of the Moon. I know the authors say don’t do this, but it does a world of service to GOTM to read Paths first, imo. Halfway through the first Kharkanas book. May be Erikson’s most consistent quality of writing yet.
Hope you enjoy it dude! I haven’t actually read it yet, but I know Tim Akers’s work and it’s fantastic (@Vivatoto can corroborate), so I thought you’d like it. I’ll be reading it myself in a couple weeks. Merry Christmas!
Thanks so much! Started the first page yesterday and immediately was enthralled. Excited to dive into his other work once I finish this one, too!
Hope you enjoy it! I haven’t yet read it but, regardless of people’s thoughts about the nature of it, I’ve heard it’s a good story!
I just finished Iron Flame, and aside from the few chapters of smut in each book, I am very invested in where this is all going. There were some twists that totally came out of left field and shocked me.
lol it's not too bad so far. not super into the narrator, and the description of the MMC is cringe as hell
I've just never heard from anyone that had anything positive to say about it despite it being hyped up af lol
I spoke about it positively in here just recently. Lol It’s not my type of book and the smut is indeed kinda bad, but the actual story is pretty good. It was better than I expected. I still haven’t read the 2nd book though, so I don’t know how that one is. I was supposed to get my friend’s copy but we haven’t been able to meet up as planned.
I'm glad you largely enjoyed it! And it's good to hear someone speak semi-positively about it for once. All I kept seeing was negative response and I felt so confused about it.
It definitely does not need to be as hyped up as it is. Lol It’s a good fun read, but it’s not incredible or anything
