mistborn era 2 book 4 is before stormlight 5 (and probably ties in because he's stressed that he has to get it in before SL5), i believe the current plan (as far as he's told us) is misborn era 3 and elantris sequels in the gap between stormlight 5 and 6.
So recently bought Joe Abercrombie's The Blade Itself and am looking forward to reading it. Anyone read this? I know it's a bit of an older one.
Yeah it's a solid trilogy. There's also some other books in the same world but I haven't read all of those.
I’m listening to Six of Crows right now. I think it might be a little YA-ish but I’m not sure yet. I bought it because it’s a heist story set in an Amsterdam-inspired city.
It’s YA. I’ve read the duology—quite fun. Bardugo has a MASSIVE following. I want to say SoC is getting made into a movie and her other books in the same world (Grishaverse) a Netflix series?
Priory of the Orange Tree is on sale for $1.99 at Amazon today: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DDGX4KY/?tag=absolutepunk-20 Can't recommend this book highly enough. Epic fantasy. My favorite book from last year.
I just saw some people on Facebook bashing Tolkien and I had to share this gem of a disaster comment with you
Every aspect of that comment is so absurd and layered with stupidity that it feels like a really genius parody.
Looked it up and it's basically a one to one rip off of Final Fantasy 7. Even down to "Cirrus Stark" (chuckle) and Cloud Strife. Hell the font looks the same
Well LotR is just a Elder Scrolls rip off so But for real that’s amazing though, even worse than I thought lol
Amazing. You guys can look forward to my upcoming novel, Rimsky. It’s about this civil war and also dragons.
It's unfortunate that that's how the guy chooses to present himself. Well, that and the fact that it does seem like he really ripped off FFVII. Reading the blurb and a couple of the reviews, it seems like it might have been a fun read otherwise. But those other two points are not exactly helping his case. Always weird to me when wannabe authors feel like bashing other authors (of any standing).
Lol I know right. I read the first chapter on Amazon and its as amatuer as you can possibly imagine. And yeah I want it to be said I wouldn't bash an author like this if it wasn't for the way he presents himself.
So I just finished the Lies of Locke Lamora and loved it , so I ordered the next two in the series , anyone have an opinion if they hold up the first book in the series.
I read the first two books and thought they were absolutely phenomenal. I bought a copy of the third book but I kinda put the series on hold until all the books are published. I honestly just like to read the books at least reasonably close together. When it's coming up on ten years like The Name of the Wind book 3 it's just far too long and I don't really remember much more than the basic plots. That is coming off more aggressive than intended - I'm not one of those people who gets unreasonably angry at the author. There are so many books out there to read, I'd rather just put a good series on hold until I can read it more closely together.
