two more ACOTAR books announced. most of the books in the romantacy genre my wife reads i don't care for but i like that series lol
I was going to mention it the other day jokingly but I never got around to it lol In other news, I finished Lions of Al-Rassan. My first GGK. Definitely more historical fiction than anything but I really enjoyed it. I listened to the audiobook version but Kay feels like one of those authors you definitely should physically read. Starting The Tyranny of Faith audiobook today.
hey, I had been getting one free audiobook per month thru Amazon Music, but now that feature is gone - does anyone know if that's something they officially got rid of...???

Alright - I am in the home stretch of Shadows Upon Time and I'm sure things will happen in this last section (expecting a few twists or so), but I have loved it so far. It started hot, and then lagged just a tiny bit in the middle. but even during that section, I love the dialogue. It reminds me a lot of what I liked about wheel of time with some of the interactions that Hardian has with the royalty and house lords. Definitely a strong point of the series as even when there's no action, the political scenes are enthralling. I still think he can improve as a writer and get rid of some of the repetitive quirks especially since those quirks were present this book when we got multiple pov's so the argument it was intentional and hardrians inner voice fell out the window a little Unless it absolutely tanks. I'm going to get a Cielcin tattoo very soon (a black and white, linework version of the kingdoms of death cover). I've got a lot of media tattoos and have not regretted any so far (a couple of cyberpunk - game and show, a senlin ascends piece of art, circa survive album art, and a realm of the elderlings inspired half sleeve). Still got plenty of room for whatever series I fall in love with later :) Also final series ranking at the moment would be 3 / 6 / 7 / 2 / 4 / 5 / 1 I think I'm going to dive into the 2 books I got for the book exchange next (thanks again!) then I'll probably dive into red rising. I know it's a cliche and one of the 'hot' series on social media at the moment, but I'm sure for good reason. I read Red Rising a long time ago but I'll start from the beginning again and at least binge the original trilogy.
SuT moved William into my favorite monarch in all of fiction (that I've read so far). He might even be my favorite character in the series. glad to see you're enjoying it. there were some parts of the book that made me want to throw my phone across the room (complimentary) lmao.
Hell ya fellow Circa tattoo haver.i do have the In Reverie album art but it's an interpretation so I'm not regretful. The message of the art is what matters to me more than the band
I have the Juturna album cover (with a few changes) It's 16 years old, so the orange in the dress that was once very bright, is super faded. It's still instantly recognizable though, and I've decided against refreshing it for the time being. I'm pretty okay with a good tattoo aging and doing it's thing. Touch ups for missing lines, color not sticking etc is one thing, but if they age (fade naturally) then so be it. I'm with you and okay if they represent interests I grow out of as long as they don't become offensive somehow. Just a reminder / snapshot in time and if well done, they'll always be interesting. I also fall in love with things easily though. So many books / games etc I've had ideas for but money and time has often made me wait, then I no longer want it. I'd totally have gotten an HP tattoo if I was a fan of fantasy reading back then.
for those with a dollar and nothing to spend it on, my ebook is on sale for $0.99 until Saturday to commemorate it's (nearly) one year anniversary. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DW1GLG72/?tag=absolutepunk-20
In all seriousness, here are the numbers as of right now for the second draft: 182,618 words (43 of 47 chapters done) -5840 words from the first draft +2644 words from the first draft -3196 overall net decrease 20,380 left to edit Four chapters left to edit. Then need to do some continuity checks. Then it's off to betas. Then another draft. Then to the editor. Then another draft or five. Then off to ARCs. One more draft. Then release it. So yeah probably around this time next week it'll be ready
It's gonna turn out like George Costanza reading "Risk Management." But for real, I get it, I love audiobooks; financing them is the only issue. (That said: I have an audiobook for my first Garden Knight novel, it's phenomenal, aaaaand I probably have a couple codes I could hand out if somebody wants one.)
Oh, I’m aware. I was just being annoying, haha. My friend Melissa always talks about how much of a gut punch audiobook production is. (Hey, I read that one so I won’t steal someone else’s first foray!)
It makes sense, it's just crazy when you first hear the rates. Huge respect to narrators though. QC has to be really dialed in, and a good performance can really elevate a book's quality, I think.
