It’s such a fantastic book. So excited for the movie. They did such a great job with The Martian.

Leviathan Wakes has been picking up nicely. Gonna be weird when I abruptly pivot to my DCC reread in a few weeks.

I read the first trilogy when it was only them and absolutely loved them. 9 isn't a ludicrous number, and it's a series that is finished, so if the rest of them are as good then I should probably do a reread of the first 3 and then tackle the other 6

The first book wears a lot of it's influences on it's sleeve but that's pretty unique to book 1 imho, and is most peoples least favorite, but it's still good. I know it's cliche to say wait until book 3, but book 2 is a massive step up and book 3 for a lot of people is their favorite and feels like it's near the top for most. I do like that I rarely see the same 2 rankings of this series which I think is a sign of a good series. Excited you're reading it!

The connection to present day events made it hit so hard for me. Great book. Insane that some people online think DCC and Matt Dinniman is right wing.

It took a really long time to grab me, i wasn’t really feeling it until Kingdoms of Death. I’m reading the last book now and loving every page

  22. I put Golden Son on pause to read Project Hail Mary before the movie. I so badly want to get back to Darrow and his politicking, but reading then watching The Martian was a terrific experience which I hope to repeat. Already got tickets for 70mm a few days before its wide release!
