I think I finished reading it right before I flew to Germany, right? One of your books was my airport delay read.
I've got it as back in April of this year. But that doesn't seem right. Feels like it was farther back.
Oh yeah you’re totally right. We’re not insane, time is normal! That’s not bad! I have book three I need some eyes on, but I should probably do a draft two first, I know there’s some stuff I need to cut or sort out before I get a beta read
what's everyone reading right now? Been in a bit of a post-series depression after Sun Eater, but I started Blindsight from Peter Watts and it's quite interesting around 60 pages in. Just trying to get some momentum. About to have 2 weeks off for Christmas/New Years so want to get some reading done.
Finishing up Jay Kristoff’s Nevernight trilogy, as well as a couple indie ARCs. Also doing the audio of The Raven Scholar and then Blackfire Blade. Those are the main ones for December, plus probably whatever I get from the exchange as well as the jólabókaflóð my family does. Oh and a book of fairytales. Then I’ve got big hopes for completing some pending series and getting to some main TBR books in 2026!
I’m about halfway through. Really loving it. Everything’s just so…vibrant and colorful and bold and quick.
my younger brother is an avid reader, but not fantasy or sci-fi at all. he reads a lot of non-fiction, and if he reads novels he tends to go for the American "classics" or "modern classics", and he's already tried to steal 2/3 of my gift exchange books! I did have Raven Scholar on reserve from my library system for a long time, and it randomly came in for me when I already had one book I was reading and two more from the library up next, so I returned it and will get it again in a little while after some other people read & return it
right now I'm finishing up The Nameless Land, Book 2 of Kate Elliot's Witch Road duology, but then I'm gonna dive into The Winter of Our Discontent
I've only read these two, but they were great. They seem like they'd be pretty quick reads for most people, but really cool, creative setting and a fun story with great characters.
The Raven Scholar is like, at very the top of my TBR Currently reading: Mattimeo because I'm rediscovering a love for Redwall Stone of Farewell, the second Memory, Sorrow, Thorn book Od Magic on audio while I attempt to consume everything Patricia McKillip has ever written The Heart of Grim, an indie book that I will most likely DNF if I'm being honest Probably will only finish two of those before the year is out, making this by far my best year of reading yet!
Too bad about Heart of Grim, I thought that looked pretty good. Excellent calls on the others though. What president is up next?
I brought the Illumicrate edition of Raven Scholar at Dragonsteel. A welcome addition to my bookshelves.
Madison! I usually take a break when I'm getting burnt out on fantasy but I've been locked in lately. Might try to change it up in the new year
Yeah anybody need any help or followup with the gift exchange? I know we’ve had a few come through and are probably waiting on a few more?
