I hope Jeff Hays gets the opportunity to do some more traditional stuff and isn't just shoe horned into LitRPG
Ugh sucks about Wheel of Time, thankfully this thread prepared me for it so I was watching all of season 3 knowing it was the end. I know fans had their issues, but I really didn’t. Sucks we’ll never get to see the last battle
Re DCC - What a great crescendo to finish book 2. I'll probably go right into 3 and take a break with the new Abercrombie or go back to some DIN's that may be better now I'm reading again.
Just saw this on reddit from Matt (I assume?) so it makes me feel a lot better ha. About a quarter of the way through book 3 and I'm glad there was a note at the beginning about not getting too lost in the train puzzle and all will become clear in due time.
Yeah it’s hard to have to make a decision like that not knowing the person will become a POS down the road. I don’t envy creatives when that stuff happens.
I read Kindred by Octavia E Butler n 2 sittings and HOLY SHIT. An absolute masterpiece. 6/5 book. Absolutely incredible and one of the best antagonists I've read.
I just bought that a couple weeks back when I saw it on sale for Kindle. Sounds like I’ll need to move it up my list.
I just found out about it. Was it good? I've not really heard much except that they changed Kevin to a Tinder hook-up which changes the entire dynamic of the story.
To be fair, I watched the show before i read the book, but i really liked it. Just expect some changes lol.
Still wanna go a bit more classic after I wrap up cosmere stuff, but I did pick up the first book in the Sun Eater series yesterday primarily due to a buy one, get on 50% deal at b&n that my wife wanted me to go in on. I've heard good things I think?
One of my favorite series currently. Final books drops in November so it’s a good time to jump in. A few of us in here enjoy the series and are fully caught up I believe. Book 1 is definitely the weakest but it’s still a great book. It just hits a whole different level from book 2 on.
Did you read the novellas? I finished the first book and started the novella between 1 and 2, but I’m struggling with it. I think I just want to get back to the main story lol.
I’ve finally found a group of friends to do DND with so that’s like a life long dream finally becoming reality. I think for Christmas I’m going to get everyone Dungeon Crawler Carl because i consistently want to bring it up, but I feel like there’s no way I can think of describing it that would do it justice.
