The Invisible Life of Addie Larue is one of my favorite books ever. About a girl who is immortal but who can't be remembered by anyone. That or the Shades of Magic series which is about a power struggle between parallel worlds (from what I can remember, it was the series that got me into fantasy besides Game of Thrones). Then there's Vicious which is about near death experiences giving people powers in the modern day.
I'm not sure if she's read any of Schwab's other books, but I know my wife absolutely loved The Invisible Life of Addie Larue
Addie Larue is a rip your heart out and put it back in book. In my top ten of all time, it's definitely the way to go if you're interested in reading her.
I think I'm giving up on Gideon The Ninth. I've been trying to get into it for 3 weeks, and half the time I zone out and the other half I'm just annoyed at the writing Maybe I would have enjoyed it more if I wasn't doing the audiobook
https://www.instagram.com/share/BAmNl2hjmZ Usual problem with Instagram embeds probably, but: cover reveal for my next book, and ARC signups are open. Would be delighted if anybody in here wanted to check it out.
I can't remember if I've posted in this thread before or not lol, but I picked up Endymion and Fall Of today. the latter was discounted too because of some very minor scuffing on the back which was nice for my broke ass. definitely probably gonna finally start reading Hyperion now just as soon as I finish The Dark Tower
Damn my two most anticipated books this year. I just finished Babel and i absolutely adored everything about it.
I could tell Katabasis would be one of my favorite books of the year by the 2nd page. Put time on your calendar for this one. Babel may be my favorite book ever so this seems like it will be up your alley. My friend recently started an online bookstore and I'm helping her by reading and reviewing certain books so I'm very lucky to be reading any of these early. Bury Our Bones is very Addie Larue but darker, I really dug it but it's not quite Addie level for me.
I'm sure you're aware, but not long till the Apple series drops. Sometime in May. I only read the first Murderbot book and I have no idea how you make it a show considering so much is internal, but I'm also intrigued.
I got my Broken Binding edition of the first 3 Malazan books today. These are such an improvement over the original covers. And my first sprayed edges!
Looks fucking great just hope they don't sexualize or gender Murderbot in any way. Would make it very mad.
I feel a little silly sharing it here, but if anyone is interested in signing up for my newsletter, I finally got around to creating a signup form: Newsletter
BLATANT SELF PROMO IN MY CHORUS THREAD?!? Murderbot is fun, at least the first 3. Looking forward to the show.
I just found spending a good amount of real estate in an already mega short story just hanging out watching television to not be that exciting. but I can see how it would translate a lot better to a show. I gave up on the series after the first 4 novellas, but will give the show a try
Hello all! I've lurked this thread from time to time to observe and want to finally reach out. I am brand new to the genre in its entirety but a co-worker got me to try Mistborn last fall and after a bit of a slow go, it took off for me and I have been consuming Cosmere stuff ever since. Currently almost done with Oathbringer. Knowing that I have only read Sanderson (and thoroughly enjoyed it all so far), do yall have any good recs or other series you'd recommend I venture into? I don't really have any immediate plans to leave the Cosmere as long as I have the books available to me, or I suppose until I plateau or start fatiguing. Would like to have some other avenues for if and when that happens. Thanks in advance, folks!
