This may be sacrilege but I’m struggling a bit on Wind and Truth. Switched to audio book so I can listen more but wild to see there are still 20 hours left haha.

Onto Royal Assassin, book 2 in the Farseer trilogy. Really enjoyed book 1 (for the third time) so now can finally move on! Haven't ever went further than Assassins Apprentice.

I'm struggling as well, in fact i've been trying to finish the audiobook for like two years. I may just pick up a copy so I can skim read through bits, because I do enjoy the series as a whole.

I started Gideon the Ninth on audiobook this morning. Only made it one chapter in, but it was doing the thing where too many names and worldbuilding stuff just sounded like word mush

I may need to look at a physical copy

Exactly the same here (also never made it through the audiobook). Ah this point I don’t remember anything either and I am not starting over. I think I’m probably just done with the series.

Doing a little giveaway over on Instagram for the upcoming release of the next Garden Knight novel. If any of you want a free book…

any of you read any Delilah S. Dawson?

she’s stepping in to write the Shannara books now that Terry is 81 and feeling the effects of age. He’s got a new series starting on Tuesday with his final book, so I’d assume she’s at least finishing that series, maybe writing more. He’ll be cowriting and counseling about the books she writes.

anyway, he’s one of my favorite authors, so I figured I should check out Delilah’s books too

I've read her Star Wars books. Hers are among the more well liked Star Wars books. Not sure about her other stuff.

Finished book 3 of Sun Eater. I’m enjoying this series a lot.

Taking a break to read Wind and Truth now. I bought it on both kindle and audible so I can hopefully get through it in a reasonable amount of time but annoyingly it doesn’t have that feature where the 2 versions sync to your last position.

will probably be fully caught up with Dresden Files in the next week (got 2 hours of Peace Talks left and jumping right into Battle Ground and The Law) and I'm really not ready for that depression to hit.

I didn't know that about the sync.. I was getting annoyed mine wasn't syncing as it normally does but now I know that that's normal in this case? I'm at 40%. It's dense but so far, no missteps to me.

And book 3 of Suneater (broken record as I say this a lot) is just peak to me, and along with Shadow Rising / Words of Radiance / some of the Robin Hobb books, up there as one my favorites of the genre.

Now you get to read the more controversial parts of the series when you go back to Suneater. Book 4 / 5 make some interesting plot decisions and the author revealed it was a split book and knowing that, it's a little awkward pacing wise. 6 was great, and I think it's set up for a good ending (though parts of 6 I really didn't like and think the series suffers overall with it's women characters).

while I'm glad DAW took Ruocchio back so I can have an actual matching set of 1st/1st hardcovers for the full series, I really wish we could buy the eARC of Shadows Upon Time like we were able to for Disquiet Gods. Now I'll have to let the DAW intern gods decide if I'm worth it on Netgalley when it goes up lmao

yeah it wasn’t working for me so I googled it and found a bunch of people complaining and someone mentioned the feature isn’t turned on for this book for some reason. I try to end on a chapter so I don’t have to go searching for my spot.

Reading The Starless Crown by James Rollins because he'll be at my local comic convention and am really enjoying it about 10% in.

I assume you're aware, but I too have published some books.

Everybody should go grab Mourn Not the Mortals by the way. Excellent book that fits perfectly our tastes in here.

Love to see this! I've got book three sitting on my shelf just waiting to be read, I've gotta finish one other thing first. Love these books.

I read book one of the Murderbot Diaries today. Short, but all killer no filler. Very character-centric. I related to them a lot…leave me alone and let me watch my stories. It’s a good sci-fi mystery.

I got this on Prime day because it was super cheap. Who knows when I’ll get to it. My to-read list is huge.

Reading an ARC of Bury our Bones in the Midnight Soil by VE Schwab and next up is Katabasis by RF Kuang. About halfway through the former and it's a banger.
