Yup, he's a pantser which means he flies by the seat of his pants. Which is absolutely wild I agree because he always brings stuff back later which like, how do you keep track?

He developed a wiki of info for personal reference after the Iron Tangle, iirc

Y’all keep talking up Malazin but I am kind of nervous to start because of the complexity everyone builds up. I caved and bought the bundle though in case and will give it a start after I’m done Wind and Truth and the first Dungeon Crawler Carl. I might need a break from complex fantasy before I start though.

Malazan rules. Those are actually my top 3 series. Stormlight, Malazan, DCC.

I bought the Malazan bundle, also did the Discworld and horror bundles they've done in the past year, but I'm probably gonna need to buy a kobo reader to access them. There's supposed to be a way to reformat them for Kindle but I can't figure it out

That's fair. Perhaps it will hit more if/when i re-read it again.

I have the humbe bundle Malazan on my Kindle and don't remember having to convert them or anything. I'm also scared to start....

i guess it resonated with me how people just put other people on shelves. psychological warfare, shunning others. tactics of internet warfare, that type of stuff. i know what it's like to be hurt deeply by people you care about that don't feel the same way. :worried::worried:

I feel like Kobo has an opportunity for some market share. Never seen them advertise though.

Looks like you're right. The Malazan books are all in epub format and I was able to download one and send to my Kindle

The issue I had with the Discworld books is they are all redeemed from the Kobo website and formatted to only be read on a Kobo device or app

No reformatting needed. Just send the epubs over to your Kindle from Amazon. Super easy. I'm reading Equal Rites from the Discworld collection now.

I'm realizing now that my friend did reformat the Diwcworld books for me before I loaded to my Kindle sorry. But ya Malazan are good to go like you said.

yeah the Discworld ones are Adobe DRM epubs. When I download from Kobo, it says you can use Adobe Digital Editions to add them to other ereaders, but I haven't been able to figure that out

assuming they are acsm files, you need to open them in Adobe Digital Editions, then use Calibre to remove the DRM with deDRM plugin, then convert to EPUB.

I downloaded Calibre on my Chromebook (which is basically an Android with a keyboard, I don't have a PC, and had to install Linux to download it) and got lost from there

oof, yeah I'm not sure other methods unfortunately. This is how I've handled netgalley books for the last few years and never had issues, but yeah I think you need Mac or PC for Calibre to work.

I’m probably the only person on the planet that prefers the ICE prequel series to the actual Erikson main sequence Malazan novels.

I got the Discworld bundle a while ago. I have a kindle, but made a free account on the Kobo app for it and downloaded them on there. There are directions on Humble Bundle. Some books I bought on HB are Kobo-only files, so I have the app just for those books, like the IDW Ninja Turtles comics bundle they had a while ago.

this is the iPhone app of it. It’s another app to download, but it’s more convenient than converting file formats or whatever
