I think it's just the first one. But it's not uncommon for a book one to get a daily deal and then the rest to show up over the next few months in different sales. That's how I've picked up a couple series.
I think I'm going to read this one soon. I have the audiobook but something seemed off about the sound mixing where some of 'messages / instructions' were so hard to hear compared to the rest of the book that I was driving and constantly shifting the volume. It's very 'cinematic' and engrossing with how it's recorded, but it was also really hard to listen to. I have seen nothing but praise from the series as whole though, and while it seems oddball / out there, and not in my wheelhouse, I liked enough of what I listened to to make it a priority sometime next year.
I have two things to say about this. For those who haven’t read it, go read/listen to the series. The wait for book 8 is going to be painful.
So the first 4 stormlight books are currently $3 each on Kindle. Also I know this is a fantasy/sci-fi thread but if anyone of you are interested in history this book is really good (tough subject matter so may not be for everyone). https://www.amazon.com/Escape-Artist-Broke-Auschwitz-World-ebook/dp/B0CZFZBZCB/
to whoever received me, I've been out of town since the 24th and won't get back until tomorrow so hopefully it wasn't stolen from our porch if it's been sent lol
Amazon sent mine before I could write the gift explanation. So once someone receives theirs on the 9th, I’ll explain haha
Anyone grabbed any good books in the Audible sale this week? Most of my wishlist sadly wasn’t that discounted.
Finished the first Mistborn book today, definitely a slight step down from the Stormlight Archive writing-wise (to be expected though). The biggest thing that stuck out was the pacing of the Sanderlanche. Felt like everything happened in 50 pages and kind of suddenly. I’m guessing that is due more to the much smaller size of the book itself though. Vin is a badass, Kelsier is a badass, I love the crew members. Elend seems like a good chap. Starting Well of Ascension now, still hoping to knock out the Mistborn books before starting Wind and Truth (hoping to see if I can snag a copy on my overnight tomorrow, but not super hopeful lol)
Made the decision to continue reading the new dungeon crawler carl over starting Winds of Truth. A tough decision because i’m reading at a much slower pace now
Since September I’ve reread Stormlight and DCC in prep for the new books. I can’t imagine reading DCC any other way than with Jeff Hays or else I’d probably be in the same predicament.
I received something that was addressed to “Sir Dave Fields, Esq”. I am waiting to open it until Xmas but I assume it’s from one of you jokers haha.
