Yeah, I thought it was gonna be a trilogy just like the Spider-Man Sam Raimi trilogy Ioan Gruffudd: Original 'Fantastic Four' Franchise Cut Short by Studio
I really enjoyed this, good mix of heart/humour/sci-fi spacey stuff. some iffy writing moments but the cast chemistry was good enough for me not to be too bothered about it. I think Pascal's "I don't want you to be like me, there's something wrong with me" to the baby is quietly one of the most devastating moments in Marvel gonna go against the thread and say this had the right amount of Moleman but needed at least double the amount of Natasha Lyonne (and more Ben by extension he got very underserved)
Overall, liked this a lot but didn’t love it. Now they’re swinging the other direction where this could have used another 10-15min!
'Fantastic Four' Sinks 66% From Box Office Opening Weekend Not great... Putting "superhero fatigue" aside, how much was the international market boosting the profits on these things?
I’m not sure if it’s superhero fatigue but two major CMB in two weeks is a bit much. Superman was enough after Jurassic World. Might have been wiser to release this in November.
Yeah I tend to agree, especially when a single movie ticket is nearing 30 bucks for adults these days
Maybe, especially since it's now going to be a long wait to the next film. EDIT: It's just frustrating because now we have two entries in a row that were actually well received critically and by the fanbase but are not seeing that translate into public interest. I just wonder if people are more likely to wait for Disney+ nowadays.
Overall, I think the hype just wasn’t there for F4 compared to Superman with the general public. F4 is a cool movie, I liked it but I felt like Superman was just more fun to watch, guess the public agreed.
This was great! Definitely in the top third of MCU movies for me, and that’s not a knock on it at all. The only bad CGI I noticed was the baby at the end, which was horrendous lol Also, I may have missed it, but I thought Franklin was only a month old when they arrived back on Earth? That baby they used was definitely not a month old, which kind of took me out, but I got over it quickly. Mole-Man was funny, the movie was beautiful visually. I also could have lived without Natasha’s character, it felt shoe-horned in and was kind of annoying filler it seemed. Could have been saved for the sequel, surely. I’d give it a solid 8-8.5/10. First movie I’ve had the chance to see in theaters since Dune: Part Two.
I will add that I go to see the movies for a fun bit of escapism, but I get the criticisms from people who want more than just that from these movies. Feel like the Infinity Saga had a solid balance there, whereas the Multiverse Saga has had a hard time finding its groove
