Just got out too, absolutely brilliant. Agree that Sue was the best, but they were all excellent.

Marvel may actually be getting their mojo back

Shakman and Giacchino have the mojo here, I think. Retro futurism was such a smart move and I’m glad Earth-828 wasn’t eaten

Those who enjoyed this - how do you think it stacks up against Superman?

Going to see it on Saturday. Gotta say that MCU projects have become more enjoyable for me once I stopped looking at spoilers.

Marvel chose violence by releasing it in the same month lol

I still spoil myself but I have to agree this is probably the way to go. There's a few things I've read that I'm sure would've hit harder if I went in blind. Last film I did that with was Endgame.

Although to be fair, Cap spoiled his entire film in the trailer. That's on them.

decent movie. the cgi looked god awful, even by mcu standards, in some scenes but the tone was right and they kinda nailed the characters. also enjoyed having little glimpses at the backstory without getting beat over the head with it. interesting that it seemed like there weren’t any other heroes in the world despite there being superpowered villains and seemingly aliens. ready for doomsday even though with the ending of this being different than my expectation/than the credit scene of thunderbolts seemed to imply idk how these guys get into the main mcu earth whatever continuity

Granted, I haven’t seen the post credit scene yet, but I’m assuming the person in the final shot escapes to the main universe or gets chased there somehow.

Superman was better. I did dig this one, but FF live in an essentially ideal world while Superman lived in our world, so I just find it more appealing. The hope inspired in Superman feels relevant to this moment in my life, FF’s heart is comforting, but feels unattainable to me for personal reasons.

I was lukewarm on Vanessa Kirby. I haven't been impressed by any of her previous roles, but she won me over.

I really liked the movie. It had heart but I agree with a lot of what @Greg said above. Also ya Vanessa Kirby really hit above her weight in this movie. Loved her character.

Nope. Just MI movies and other small roles. I wasn't sure she could lead a movie like this because she wasn't memorable until now.

This is a top 10 MCU film for me. Really enjoyed the tone, story, and characters.
