wow can't believe that Marvel picked a director with little prior experience so they can control them creatively like they've done with every other movie of the past decade
Is... is WandaVision one of their least successful? Isn't it the second most successful D+ show after Loki? I'm a little confused by this statement.
He has a really impressive TV background and I think his direction of Wandavision was great, so I’m more than happy with this choice
Marvel picked James Gunn, Taika Waititi and Ryan Coogler and got them all back to do sequels because... they loved being controlled so much?
Don't get me wrong, I get why Jepsen's saying what they are, but also this. I mean, add Chloe Zhao to that list too. I think the more correct thing to say is that Marvel has a habit of seeking out rising talent rather than known quantities, because the former are more likely to play ball in a collaboration vs. someone like, I dunno, Spielberg. Control is an extremely strong word to use though and disrespects the makers of these films by suggesting they have no agency in the work they make. I mean, we know that's not the case, clearly.
You're right I exaggerated and was harsh and I'm sure with the Russo brothers and Jon Watts some of it was money
he hasn't been in a good movie since Easy A but i guess he has hit the glo up a bit since the dexter lite show
not sure how legit this is but apparently Lily James, Jodie Comer, Phillipa Soo, Saoirse Ronan and Amanda Seyfried. are in talks for Sue and apparently Jamie Dornan is in talks for Reed
