If I was being picky I’d say each episode could use 5 to 10 minutes edited out. There are few scenes of dialogue that don’t necessarily push the story forward and slow the pacing down. Though I’d probably say that for all of his shows.

I think I'm at episode 7 or 8. It's pretty good. I'd agree that it doesn't hit emotionally like HH, Bly, or MM (didn't enjoy Midnight Club), and I'd probably put it below those shows at the moment

I remember some of the monologues (and I know that's a Flanagan thing) in Midnight Mass being soooooooo tedious and long, just dragged some scenes out.

Linklater was outstanding through and through

Is Midnight Club “true” Flanagan? It seems like he was way less involved than his other shows. I could be mistaken, though. I wasn’t able to finish it

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

    completely agree with this ranking

I have one episode left and it’s really gone off the rails while still managing to be formulaic.

I finished this today and loved it. Would probably put it below Midnight Mass and Hill House but above Bly Manor and Midnight Club.

That last few episodes were honestly a bit exhausting to get through. I can’t say I loved the show as a whole but a chunk of it was entertaining.

Willa Fitzgerald, the younger Madeline was great in Reacher, but yeah, I think they tried too hard to make her appear cold while younger. Mary McDonnell will always be my president though.

the funniest part was the affectation/not really accent but kind of accent that the older Madeline has that the younger very much so does not

I assumed it was her giving herself a “rich person” accent to assimilate but it very well could be poor acting

i think it's just the actress' voice, having seen her in other stuff, it's just funny that they didn't even bother trying to make the younger actress replicate it

Just finished. Lots of fun, definitely felt goofy at times.

I haven't seen Midnight Club, I've been hesitant since I became a dad. These are all top tier horror series, but right now my ranking is:

    Hill House
    Midnight Mass
    Bly
    Usher

It was fun but sits on the lower end of Flanagan shows for me. Possibly the bottom, doesn't mean it's bad by any means.

I forgot about it too but I don't really think that's some sort of endictment on the show. Its just how it is these days with content. Unless its the greatest show of all time, with multiple seasons, or its based on some popular IP, that "very good" movie and show won't stay with you for that long.

in retrospect it's probably my least fav Flanagan I've seen all the way through. was it worth watching? meh. it was okay. at the very least it was fun catching this around halloween time.

I never actually finished this. My girlfriend and I really weren’t feeling it four episodes in and switched to Hill House instead.
