Definitely the strongest episode. Great finale.

 

Love that we get Cap Sam right off the bat

The suit was sick, and his speech was fantastic.

 

mackie deserves it so much.

worse than the last two, particularly the first half of the episode, but better than the first three. my eyes almost rolled out the back of my head at the “nah... that’s captain america” line lol. like, we know lol

 

“no, that’s MechaGodzilla!”

 

This was a solid finale.

any thoughts on who Sharon called in the post-credit? Thinking radical Skrulls for Secret Invasion.

I agree with the poster above who said I’m glad it happened right away. I’m glad I got a whole episode with Sam as Cap and they really let him take the entire mantle, fully.

 

You never know how they could spin it, but it seems obvious that it was her people in Madripoor. People that work for her as the power broker. She is gonna make mad money on the side selling what she. Now has access to.

 

it seems fairly obvious she's calling Val, though I could see it being fury/a secret invasion tie-in

 

I honestly didn’t like the suit that much. Just looked weird especially the head neck thing even though I know it’s canon.

 

I wonder who the big bad will be for Cap 4?

Serpent Society makes sense actually. The title was used to tease Cap 3 and Sam’s Cap has history with them.

 

It does seem like they’re having JLD recruit a Thunderbolts/Dark Avengers-type team.

 

it was so, so odd to have that shot of walker and bucky pal around while walking away. like, he just tried to murder you guys???

No one’s talking about that mask tech Carter had and I think it’s probably the most interesting foreshadowing of the episode.

There were definitely some really great ideas in this but man it felt like a big ol’ mess to me.

Thinking about the whole season there were so many things that could’ve just been cut entirely to make this more effective. I loved Daniel Bruhl but in reality you could cut him out and it doesn’t really change much. Him helping the team doesn’t matter when characters in this show up where and when they needed to in order to move the plot forward.

Definitely happy for Mackie though - excited to see where that story goes next though I’m definitely feeling the Marvel burnout.

 

We saw it already in The Winter Soldier. Not sure why it should suddenly have some deeper meaning or foreshadowing now though.

 

I really believe there's a very decent film among the almost 6 hours of footage here, just feels like we took a lot of time to go... not very far?

I also still think the way they handled Karli was... I mean, I think all I needed was a flashback scene to show a young Karli defending a kid getting bullied and going too far, hurting the bully (you could even parallel it to the scene with Bucky and pre-serum Steve in the first Cap) to at least show that while Karli's motivations are in the right place, she sometimes goes too far and can't control herself... cause what we instead got was a woman who was (initially presented) as someone not looking to hurt people, trying to actively make the world better, who was raised by a woman made out to be a saint, who then takes a serum that makes you "more like yourself" and suddenly she wants to burn hostages? Like... even the Flag Smashers reactions to that (some of who seem to have been with her since the orphanage) are like "...what the fuck?" so it just seems to me like... either an integral scene is missing or the writing is forced.
