Ahh - Honestly, I may be in the minority but I really don't miss the theater all that much. In theory, it's great - huge screen, loud, huge ass fountain soda. But in practice (for me) it's generally pretty expensive (all things considered) and I'm not a huge fan of sitting right up close to folks I don't know - even pre-pandemic. I've honestly enjoyed being able to watch new releases in the comfort of my own home without others talking or the glow of a stranger's phone 3 rows in front of me. Totally understand why some really like the experience but it's not my favorite thing in the world. I don't know that I'm that jazzed enough about Eternals to head to the theater, especially at this point even though I am vaccinated.
Always interesting to hear different opinions on that. I love watching great films with strangers. It's the closest to church that I've ever had.
I love the movie theatre experience but I just know it’ll be awhile before I do it again, which sucks.
Was Eternals ever set for a D+ release? I thought they had previously stated Marvel movies would go back to exclusive theatrical releases beginning with Shang Chi.
This trailer was much better than the first. But hold on. So the Eternals didn’t help against Thanos because they were told not to intervene unless deviants were involved. And unless they changed Thanos’ backstory he is partially Eternal with deviant genes in him. So wouldn’t that mean Thanos fits into the category for the eternals to help the avengers?
It's pretty clear then that they changed his backstory. It's no use trying to gauge anything by what happens in the comics except as a very rough guide.
“IF” they did change it I don’t see why. Marvel has already shown concept art with a young Thanos standing with the Eternals lol Stunning Marvel Concept Art Reveals Young Thanos And The Eternals
They could have changed just the part of his backstory where he has Deviant genes, though. Or maybe because he isn't a "full Deviant" it doesn't count. Idk, it's not really bothering me too much.
Actually, if you read the article, it states the artist was told to make a concept of a young Thanos with Titans for a potential flashback scene in Infinity War and only chose "Eternals" for the Titans to "not piss off fans".
Yeah I know that. A concept art where even the artist knew to keep it in line with the comics is what makes it seem odd if Feige chooses to change Thanos’ backstory. It would be a HUGE change and for what?
"Galactus" is trending on Twitter because people think Eson The Searcher in the new trailer is Galactus lol oooooof
I guess I just don't agree. It's not that important of a plot point and the artist was acting in his own interest, not Feige's. I think Feige has proven over the years that he doesn't give a shit about comic accuracy beyond broad strokes.
People in general need to just view the MCU as another continuity that exists alongside 616, Ultimate, etc. There are echoes of things that originally happened in the comics but it's a whole different thing that exists alongside those other continuities. When people were incensed about the Mandarin thing in Iron Man 3, for example, I was so confused, because as comics fans you would expect that they understand the concept of parallel continuities where things are similar but different. That's how Feige has always treated the MCU since 2008.
