Director Chloe Zhao Arrives With Early Oscar Contender 'Nomadland' and Next Year's 'Eternals': "It's a Bit Surreal" | Hollywood Reporter Worth reading the whole interview, including the stuff about her background & her upcoming film Nomadland (starring Frances McDormand, currently scheduled for this December). It's interesting that it was her pitch that convinced Marvel to go forward with this film, especially after something as gigantic as Endgame. Hopefully we get a teaser soon if this is still being released in February.
Perhaps the date in the title of this thread can be changed lol But, for Chloe fans, this is interesting. 'Nomadland's' Chloe Zhao Tackling 'Dracula' Movie (Exclusive)
man. super annoying. i know she was already doing marvel but getting sucked even further into big IP sucks.
It's such a bummer how all of it goes down. I'll always love Lexi Alexander's take on her shot at a marvel movie. Great listen if you've got the time.
Good for her, though. I’m sure most directors grew up with at least some fair knowledge of IP films, so being able to put their ever-lasting mark on a few of them crosses out some personal milestones. As long as a she gets to do her own thing (the sound of it seems like it’s already unique and probably a pitch for her own idea of Dracula) then there’s not really much that fans of her work will lose.
May not be great news for future Zhao films like Eternals. China has the largest group of man-babies on Earth. Nomadland references censored in China over critical comments by Chloé Zhao from 2013
