That first episode was great, just watched it. Had no idea the show was back! lil Nas X seemed surprised which was awesome.
So, I have been a fan of Erics since first seeing him like a decade ago on 2 Broke Girls. Enjoyed that role, Bad Trip, his jackass stuff, and just him in general so I figured I should finally give this show a shot. I tried to watch one episode (Dennis Rodman/ Haley Joel) and I couldnt get through it. It was just so dumb and absurd. Are all the episodes like that? Do the guests actually think its real? I was pretty lost honestly. Love the dude, just not sure about this show.
Do you enjoy Tim and Eric / Dr. Steve Brule / ITYSL / some of Nathan for You humor? If you've never been introduced to this kind of comedy, I can definitely see it being overwhelming. Also yes most of the guests do sign on to be interviewed expecting a typical late night show experience. I'm not sure how much that still holds since he's gained a bit of notoriety, but generally the reactions are authentic. I recommend starting at the beginning and working your way through. It admittedly gets better and better but I think it helps to adapt to the style from the start. His brand of comedy is absurd but also incredibly funny and original.
Donald Glover acted very unsuspecting and surprised, I'm actually surprised he didn't know what he was getting into
I had no idea that Tom Hanks had another son that was an actor or rapper or whatever that guy thinks he is haha. I love the set stuff this season.
Finally got around to watching the entire season yesterday. This definitely feels like a different show than it did at the beginning but that's to be expected when Eric's profile has risen so much (and Hannibal, who was an integral part of why the show was so funny, is gone). That being said, this season was a lot better than the last one imo, the pranks felt like they were on another level this year with a lot more elaborate planning and for the most part that really worked for me, they felt almost Sacha Baron Cohen inspired a lot of the time. The celebrity interviews were a lot better this year too, I think some of them started to feel pretty forced in S5 but they did a much better job adapting to the fact that pretty much everyone knows what's going on now and there were some truly hilarious ones like Chet Hanks, Jaden Smith, Donald Glover, Jaleel White and Jon Hamm. Definitely happy with this season and I'll keep tuning in as long as he does this
I went to the Chicago Eric Andrew Show Live and it was absolutely bananas. Can’t wait to see the NY show.
