Yeah I agree that P Daddy and Pup are both really not for me even though they’re both universally adored for the most part. Respect to them for doing what they do either way. I guess the You Blew It comparison was especially weird for me because imo they were the most perfect band of the “revival”, or at least by far the closest to my favorite type of emo
Not the first time I’ve heard the monitor comparison . Feel people been saying that ever since this thing started getting written
this is very much my speed. also "Recorded on July 15th, 2012 " what lol EDIT: ahhh i guess this is a re-release?
can you guys please share your favorite emo album of the year so far (outside the obvious big names like AF)? I have a craving for new emo music but it’s hard to follow with all the shit being released thx!
Probs missing a whole bunch of stuff bc it hasnt been a emo-heavy year for me outside of the (fantastic) American Football record, but here are a couple of favs. Tempertwig - Fake Nostalgia: An Anthology of Broken Stuff Lovelettertypewriter - Houses Built, Homes Destroyed American Pleasure Club - Fucking Bliss Heartscape Landbreak - The Remedy Coffee Breath - Waking Up Too Early The Natural 20s - Everyone Will Fall Fox Wound - It Could Happen to You Padfoot - The Company We Keep Seagulls - Thrown Voices Not quite emo, but the Default Genders album Main Pop Girl 2019 is instantly lovable.
American Football lol The other ones are all very different from each other so it depends on what vibe youre feeling, though i’m obsessed with the default genders album. Just based on what i know of your tastes, I think youd dig the AMP, the Natural 20s, and Tempertwig albums. Maybe Heartscape Landbreak too (solo record of a touring member of Appleseed Cast)
