Numero Group just announced that they've picked up Shroomunion, one of the many bands of Mark Rodgers who passed away 10 years ago today. I had never heard of anything from this guy before moving to the Bay Area, but I'm so glad I eventually did—he brought a certain magic to every band he was in and it's been amazing (and sad) to check out his discography.

If you've never listened before, I can highly recommend the Perilisium Cantos EP (Eyad Kaileh mentioned to me recently that, in hindsight, this is the music he's most proud about being a part of—the flute breakdown in Relic/Sick is unreal) and the first ribbon fix album, some saturday this has been.

The ribbon fix album in particular is a grower and absolutely UNREAL—seriously, there are some tracks on this record (like Liquorbed, Gunner, South Lake Detour, and Lessening) that are ALL-TIME, ALL-SCENE-ENCOMPASSING favorites for me now. Too real and the dual vocals really make it all come together—Andi Camp, the bassist/other vocalist, is so amazing too!
