I never listened to this when is was posted but this rocks. I saw it on Spotify for fans of Stay Inside (It’s not really too much like them though) and I had to listen since I’m from Kansas. There lead singer’s voice really reminds me of someone else and I can’t put my finger on it.
My 2025 is already a roller coaster, but this news (which I am digesting late) gets me very excited for listening to new music this year: Glenn MacDonald (the creator of Every Noise At Once) has brought back away for Spotify users to search through new releases by genre, which is how I keep up with emo and its adjacencies. It’s different and mostly clumsier than its previous iterations due to the limitations of how it needed to be set up, BUT it does what it did before PLUS a neat little sampler option to let you listen to clips of new tracks right in the browser. he talks about how to set it up in this blog post: furialog
I found some more sound alikes I might have been thinking of. The If Kansas Had Trees singer also kind of sounds like the Camp Trash and Tree River singers.
I can't remember if this was already on Spotify (I seem to recall only Analphabetpolothology being available, but I could be misremembering) but either way, a remaster of Cap'n Jazz's Shmap'n Shmazz is now on Spotify:
Happy to have this update available, but huge missed opportunity in not calling the "2025 Reshmaster".
