Lush, pop-rock tinged, emo/alternative? I get some vibes of Owel, Mae, and even the Dear Hunter (in the vocals) at times. I'd recommend checking out Macabre and Ozymandias to decide if you think it's for you. The production is also really good. I don't know how much it really fits in this thread, but I think it's where it'd get the most appreciation.
So I dunno I've always been a pretty casual emo fan like it's something I tend to drift out of and have drifted out of it heavy like I have no clue what's what honestly but my friend invited me to this house show and I've never been to one. I've seen the name awakebutstillinbed but never heard of the others. The lineup was awakebutstillinbed (solo)/origami angel/sammy heck tho orgami angel played last. Knew it was on punk time showed up right as it was starting and like I really regret that bc me and my friend stayed like I dunno 30-45 minutes just like shooting the shit with people? Like I'm literally shook by like how like...welcoming people were. I'm just used to hardcore shows where everyone is mean mugging and clique-y as hell (at least in Baltimore and DC I know sometimes scenes differ) but like that was the coolest thing I've ever been too. I'm going to go to literally every show there I can make truly. I feel like I found oil in my backyard. Also origami angel played a song and said we need a title if you gotta any suggestion let em know and I was watching the Trading Spouses Chapelle's Show sketch and in it the phrase "I found your lightsaber" is said and idk that sounds like some sort of emo song like in my head it's a Dikembe song haha but they basically said they'd use it so if that happens that would truly be the coolest thing ever. I also was talking to the drummer for a while tho like I'm pretty certain I'm older than both of them by like 3 or 4 years like they gotta be 17-18 or something I dunno. I just finished listening to awbsib a couple of minutes ago. Listening to origami angel right now and this rules too
I'm working today while almost everyone else in my department is off. Someone give me some good obscure listens.
I remember this surfacing when they were releasing singles. I thought it was interesting that it was mixed and mastered in mono for LOUD listening
