Really digging this. It's like a contemporary take on the mid-00's chamber pop / emo / indie rock like Anathallo, The Decemberists, Michigan/Illinois-era Sufjan Stevens, etc. It definitely harkens back to that time and sound, but doesn't feel dated.

To add to that list of riyl bands, this sounds uncannily like 2000’s era Animal Collective to me. Like to a T. It’s fantastic.

I instantly thought of the Lulls in Traffic when I heard this.

 

Sadness compilation three is now available on Spotify : it features all the songs from the splits released so far in 2023. Absolutely killer songs, this is top notch.
