Injury Tape made a classic emo record!! More people need to listen, Lightning Bug probably my favorite but it’s all hits.

 

Just finished Injury Tape. Wow, got some strong Brave Bird vibes throughout. Really great album, thanks for the rec!

 

What is classic emo?

 

It’s just good music

 

If Caracara counts, that’s definitely it for me. My AOTY so far regardless of genre.

 

Caracara, Garage Sale, Sadurn, fanclubwallet, Why Bonnie, and Living Hour are a few coming to mind that fall under the emo umbrella

I am glad a band that released their first album in 2019 makes all the rules lol

 

I’m really bad with RIYL, but trust me they’re all great.

Oso oso
Joyce Manor (different than their other stuff, more pop rock, but it might be my fave)
Prince Daddy & the Hyena (the vocals might have to grow on you, but Black Mold is my SOTY)
proper. (emo with great political lyrics with a black queer vocalist)
Pool Kids (amazing female vocals, rock/pop emo)
Beach Bunny (this album is pretty divisive among fans, but I like it)

 

Good list, I would add Sweet Pill
