So stoked for that new Hodera EP. I fucking love that band. The 2 pre release tracks are great. Seemed fitting to make the EP artwork my new avi in anticipation. How is that Wild Pink record? I still haven't heard it. Been meaning to check it out for awhile now but I haven't gotten to it yet.
My current top 2 AOTY contenders are mwY and Holy Fawn. Revisited the illuminati hotties record yesterday and that one is now in my top 20. Stuff is constantly changing around and there's still a ton of records released this year I still want to get to.
we are treading a line of beginning year end lists so ima kindly ask we switch topics. I will not be able to handle AOTY lists till at least December 30th
You’ll love the ep then Wild pink is one of my favs. I think it’s a nearly perfect album. Really mellow and lush with some heartland rock and dream pop influences
Wiild Pink has become my go to “whenever” record ever since it’s release, instantly replayable. very excited for It Looks Sad this week too
can we talk about how dananananaykroyd were the greatest band to ever band? They were the literal perfect infusion of indie pop/emo/hardcore/skramz. Hurts my soul how under appreciated they are
I'm just now checking these guys out based on your post and holy shit. This is fucking incredible. Never heard of these guys before.
New Field Medic will be next year. No surprise there I guess but was still hoping it might come out this year
what are people using for blogs/new music these days? I used to live and die by GoldFlakePaint (rip). now I just check Grey Estates or Post-Trash, occasionally The Alternative has some stuff but not always what I'm looking for. GFP just got me. @yung_ting @Swae Lee
Honestly, Stereogum is the resource I use most often, but I don’t listen to as many of the super small bands that some in here do. Also, just checking out the artists that bands I like are touring with (even if the tour doesn’t come near me) has proven a successful method. Following labels and artists on twitter and seeing the other stuff they shout out has lead to some great discoveries too.
tbh i just listen to local bands that i see opening for bands i love. Also lots of random bandcamp digging. Its very rare I find bands from blogs. Following lots of bands/members of bands you love on twitter is the best resource for finding new shit. Also
