Don’t get me wrong I’m so excited for this record but it’s extremely funny that it’s been 8 years since they released something and one of the songs is a re-record

It’s an amazing song so I’m here for it. Apparently some of the riffs on this record were originally conceived of over a decade ago.

 

I’m listening to “the first glass beach album” for the first time and getting chills. I wish I discovered this sooner.

I mean I don’t particularly mind it at all, it’s just that when you break it down with that in mind they wrote 1.1 songs a year

 

I think the creative process of this record was super sporadic. In the Stereogum feature they mention that there were elements written years ago and then a huge chunk of it was finished in the last month.
