Sometimes I pop in this thread and notice the absurd amount of music posted within the last few hours and there's just no direction, few riyl's, and pages upon pages of it. A sheer avalanche of bandcamp link after bandcamp link after spotify link after bandcamp link. just exhausting, and immediately turns me away. If some of you can keep up with that, kudos to you but I sure can't, and I'm certain it's not the ideal way to share and support artists you love. Just saying, a little detail goes a long way in recommending music.
That Bad Bad Habits Arthur cover is so good! So is the other Arthur cover. The Arthur theme fuckin rules
yeah its been a lot lately. not sure if you use spotify but im turning my auto updating playlist which takes 1 song from every thing posted in past like 2 weeks . This admittedly is only way ive been able to get manuever through everything posted here. The Emo Thread - chorus.fm, a playlist by matt.haber on Spotify
Working from home allows me to do this, but I'll scroll through and play part of a song or two from the links and decide if it's my vibe. If multiple people are quoting it or talking about it, I'll just auto add it to my apple music
Yeah, I feel like that point gets brought up quite frequently. I mostly just check stuff if a lot of people are into it or if the artwork catches my eye. But a lot of times I feel like I'm just opening this thread and scrolling to the end out of habit lol. There's still good finds but I feel like it's totally at random for me. I also know there's a decent amount of stuff that just isn't my vibe these days. Still love this thread though. I feel like these genre threads are where the most sense of community is build on the forum tbh, even if it is mostly just through sharing links.
I have brought this up in other threads. If you are going to recommend music at least take two seconds to give a RIYL. Certain users are notorious for this and it’s very unappealing. Part of the reason I left this thread a while back.
My wife threw me a last minute dirty thirty surprise party tonight(only 8 people/masks on), and now I’m gone off goose island BCS/Sierra Nevada Celebration blasting Jail Socks so loud. So grateful for this thread for turning me onto bands like this. Would never have heard about them other wise.
Just found out Palberta is releasing a new album in January so I made a thread. Feel like y'all would be into it. Three piece indie rock/emo group from New York. Palberta - Palberta5000 (January 22, 2021) • forum.chorus.fm
