No one seems to talk about I’m Glad It’s You, which is a real shame cause I honestly think they are writing some of the best lyrics of the genre atm.
Taking Meds are fucking incredible and Skylar is such a wonderful guy. Check out his solo EP. For real tho, we played with Taking Meds on our last tour and that was easily one of the best sets I’ve ever seen period. I was smiling like an idiot the whole time.
I'm trying to be this week's Emo Thread MVP, so here's another find: FFO: A Great Big Pile of Leaves, Mellow Shit Vocals kind of remind me of a more talented Jake Ewald
Not if I can help it. FFO: Penfold, Mineral, Pop Unknown FFO: Look Mexico, Braid, A Great Big Pile of Leaves FFO: Twinkly Noodly Good Shit
Oh, u dun it now. I'm all in now. FFO: It Looks Sad.'s Kaiju EP, Save Face, Citizen, The Pop Punk Side of emo I specifically called out my favorite track, but ya'll should check out the full album.
@Colin Your Enthusiasm and @teebs41 you'd definitely be into this. It's a rec from @Mary V if that helps.
this band is local to me and I've booked them a bunch, much better live than on record imo they're also all between 16 and 18 years old as far as I know
This 4 track EP came out today not emo but sharing it here. The last track especially gave me the feels. Great fuzzy/shoegaze-y guitars.
Aight I'm gonna be dropping some posts in a moment. Lots of old stuff that I made note of from the old thread. Some New Stuff. Will categorize it all by FFO recommendations. Get ready to hand over dat MVP participation ribbon.
STUFF FROM THE OLD THREAD: FFO: The Moody, Noodly, Mellow side of the emo genre Thank god the new thread has no rediculous gate-keeping. I'm sure there will be debates on how I categorize these. If you have any complaints, feel free to meet me in the rage cage for a sunset showdown to the death.
STUFF FROM THE OLD THREAD: FFO: Weed Emo, Nu Emo. Stuff in between Snowing and Modern Baseball. COMP, by Heart to Gold Merci, by Save Face Just Let Sleeping Dogs Lie, by Sleepy Dog Temperature is...., by SUMMERMAN How Are You, by Versio Curs
BARELY MARCH SHREDS! forgot that I drunkenly ordered that record until I got a late shipping notification from them a month ago. Oliver Houston is the best Algernon-esque stuff I've heard in a while. anyone who uses the That 70's Show melody in a song is a winner. long live DWolf. l love how active this thread is again. I can find friends who are interested in the more popular stuff covered on the site to talk to about but this stuff... nope.
