You all better not sleep on the new Sarah & the Safe Word album - it's out on Friday and it's one of the most fun records I've heard all year.
the only other thing I've heard this year that sort of hits this particular sound is the Weave record
I didn't love that one the way I hoped to - I like it for sure but I don't find myself compelled to return to it that often :(
I did love it but I feel like it had some aoty-type talk around it when it came out which...I wouldn't go that far. I hope they keep working because I think they have the potential to make something really great
Album Premier: The Goalie's Anxiety At The Penalty Kick - Ways of Hearing - New Noise Magazine hell yea
really dig that weave record, though i agree they've yet to hit their potential. think it was the record's production and some of the vocals that dropped a few of its points IMO. enjoying wishes on a plane.
Made a thread for the Guitar Fight from Fooly Cooly album from a few months ago to post updates/new stuff from the band. They just dropped a new 4 band split! (Unfortunately one of the bands on it is Oolong though) Guitar Fight from Fooly Cooly - Soak (August 14, 2020) • forum.chorus.fm
hi friends, Matt from the band Seagulls messaged me to let me know they're making a new record. Gonna spin 2019's Thrown Voice now since it's been awhile. Check it out if you've never listened, great indie/surf-rock/emo album with nostalgic electronic vibes and horns. It's riyl: A Great Big Pile of Leaves, Yeah Is What We Have, Hellogoodbye
That's fantastic news! This was easily one of my favorites of 2019 and I'm going to have to spin it again today.
Saw this cool list posted in an emo group I am in. Aside from Brand New, this list is extremely impressive. Tons of bands I have never even heard of on here (a lot from the 90s).
