how is it out there?, by kin Singer/guitarist from Milkmen made a quarantine EP with some other folks, it’s short and great.
No idea. She’s mentioned a project on twitter but was vague about it. Would be cool to see something come to fruition
I’m out of the emo game lately. I’ve enjoyed I’m Glad It’s You and Have a Good Season. What else has been good?
Riverby Weave Ultimate Frisbee As a Sketch Pad Expert Timing Golden Python new songs from Pinkshift, Del Paxton, Barely Civil, Teenage Halloween, Oceanator recent favorites off the top of my head
Weave and Hospital Sports are two recent stunners I’ve been into. Still gotta dig into the last few pages though. New Taking Meds is also great as always.
Same - Plastic Western Innerlove. - Fine By Me EP Snarls - Burst Addy - Eclipse Crisman - Crisman Options - Wind’s Gonna Blow Rat Tally - When You Wake Up EP House & Home - Find Sense. Feel Love. Make Light. (this one’s closer to pop punk but has a lot of emo influences as well)
Outside of stuff already mentioned, here are a few off the top of my head I've loved so far this year: Charmer - ivy We Love You - Seek and You Shall Find Trace Mountains - Lost in the Country Fair Mountain - S/T (ep) Carpool - Erotic Nightmare Summer Seer Believer - Bent
That Trace Mountains album is incredible. Glad people are posting their recent favorites. This is much more preferable to me than bandcamp links with no riyl's overflowing page after page.

I've tried to push for folks to share more than just a link, or at least include name the album/artist so that it's searchable. something I know I've tried to be more conscious of over the year. there is so much posted it's overwhelming at times.
another new Yankee Bluff song, "Wendy" this band has members of Dogs on Acid btw (in keeping with the discussion on providing more info!) Trace Mountains is a good riyl
this is a good call out, and is an issue with most of the genre threads on this site. it’s always a mixed bag, especially with rather broad genres like emo and hip hop edited my post with youtube links so you’ll be able to get a quick feel for each record @xapplexpiex
I don’t share too much in here but it’s something I always try to do any time I recommend something and actually want people to listen. Especially when it’s something like this (or the hip hop thread or my not popular pop thread) where the definition of genre includes such a wide variety of things, not all of which will appeal to everyone that follows. I always find great stuff here but it’s often hard to know what is or isn’t going to be worth my time, especially when I don’t listen to a genre exclusively and I’m already struggling to keep up with everything else I like lol.
This thread is definitely the worst when it comes to overwhelming amounts of content. A day will pass and 2-3 pages will go by--purely bandcamp links without RIYL's or descriptions. It's so much with little direction that I end up just skipping over most of the stuff that's posted. I've probably missed out on a ton of excellent music from this genre that's come out recently because of that.
Is Told Slant still on DDW? I know most of the other Epoch affiliated acts aren’t anymore. But Felix tweeted about getting the TS masters two days ago so maybe that’s the DDW release??
