Same tbh but before I get thrown into the trash where I belong the new cloud district album is amazing and needs more love
While we’re here, can someone explain to me what the fuck “party emo” is supposed to be? From what I can gather, I’m pretty sure it’s just what people who are too vain to admit they like pop punk call pop punk but I might be wrong.
I mean idk. Free throw to me isn’t pop punk but it’s too upbeat to be emo, so they call it party emo.
Free throw’s latest album to me isn’t party emo although their previous material most certainly was, I’d say bands like Mom jeans, newer tiny moving parts and glocca morra could be classified as party emo. I’ll need to tally votes however since this is a diplomatic thread.
But the bottles are hollow now And there's room at the bottom And I would take it all back If I could . . . But I won't
Just a lot of characteristics in dynamic and sound style that makes me think it’s not just pop punk. Pop punk/emo yes... which equals party emo :)
Thank you @Hazelnutsack for your username alone but also your love for cloud district. @teebs41 finally came around to it. Better late than never.
PINE is a band I feel deserves more love on here imo. Local band that is now signed to No Sleep Records currently working on their debut lp. This is their ep from last year. "Doom and gloom never sounded so sweet" Pillow Talk, by PINE
Also while I'm at it Bristletongue as well. Slow, alternative emo band bristletongue is a four-piece from Lake County, IL with influences ranging from Daughter and Julien Baker to Smashing Pumpkins and As Cities Burn. Fronted by nonbinary former folk artist L Morgan (they/them) and backed by artists with progressive and post-hardcore backgrounds, they bring a unique sound to the stage.
This album deserves to be posted in here. It's now my AOTY for 2018 so far. @Night_Sky tagging you since I'm posting about AF again haha
