Appreciate the love from ya'll, I still have no idea how to do music promotion but I feel confident that the record is really good. Made our drummer cry this morning and if that's not emo then what is.

I'm one of the two rappers, I'm in the first song and then the guy that sounds like that in the rest of them (except I'm not on two of them)

It took me forever to get our record release show booked, this band is like really hard to schedule cause everyone has a lot going on. If anything comes up I'll let ya know tho

Its from the end of her stand-up album from like 2016. I asked her if we could use it and then met her after a show and confirmed that it was cool/she wouldn't sue us. That was in 2017, I didn't think the record would take so long to finish but hey here we are, and she is apparently still cool with it. But she didn't like record it for this or anything. That's my favorite song and it makes me cry every time.

 

I know guys who have made their girlfriends make accounts to promote their bands lol

(edit: okay, I don’t actually know if they made them make accounts, but I do know that the accounts were made with the purpose of promotion alone)

 

I promise when I post a band that has 30 monthly listeners on Spotify, I don't know the band I'm just weird

 

I expect everyone who contributes to this thread to also share their own personal projects here because that’s what I’m going to do if I ever finish a song lol

So as some of you may know, Ratboys has a new album coming out in February (it's one of my most anticipated releases for next year). I went to see Julia (lead singer) perform a solo set last night (Sunday) and she played a lot of new songs from the record that sounded great. I actually recorded her whole set (so I could play the new songs over and over), and I figured this thread would very much enjoy watching her set as well!
