I’ve gotten so bad at listening to stuff that’s even 6 months old, something I need to get better at. I totally blame streaming services. I do love that Fox Wound record.
I found Do You Know Who You Are? by Texas Is the Reason on vinyl recently (not a real rare find btw) and it threw me into a big 2nd Wave Emo kick. Sunny Day Real Estate, Texas is the Reason, The Promise Ring, American Football, and Cap'n Jazz specifically.
That Paper Rival album is actually one of my favorites. I randomly google them every once in a while hoping for a reunion. Safe to say that isn't going to happen.
Unfortunately the band ended on bad terms so yeah I don't see it ever happening. That record turned 10 years old this year pretty wild. Still one of my favorites of all time. I bolded Safe to Say because that's a band that imo doesn't get mentioned enough on Chorus. Hiding Games EP and Down in the Dark LP are both excellent releases. Both releases are great alt rock/emo with some nice grunge and post-hxc influences.
Can't believe its been 10 years. It sucks the singer never did anything either. Loved his songwriting
Never listened to this band but saw a couple of their tour dates with Ian Sweet and Sean Henry get announced and immediately confused them with Slim Jesus
checked out Sean Henry for the first time last week, good stuff. idk who Slim Jesus is though haha. I'd give s/t from last year a spin, one of my favorites from 2017.
Sean Henry is great, check out his old band High Pop too if you haven't. Slim Jesus was some 17 year old wannabe Eminem kid who was a meme like 3 years ago
Shows but also tons of bands and labels have merch, you just gotta google the band you want merch from with keywords such as merch/ shirt/ store etc. and you will definitely come across whatever they have available
